Xiaomi today announced two new budgeted smartphones Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro for the Indian market. The Redmi Note 5 came with a similar design to its predecessor Note 4 while the new Redmi Note 5 Pro features an iPhone-like look with a dual rear camera just like the iPhone X.

Redmi Note 5 Pro Price
The new Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro is priced at Rs. 13999 (around $218) for the 4GB RAM variant and Rs. 16,999 (around $265) for the 6GB RAM variant. It will be available exclusively via Indian eCommerce giant Flipkart and the online Mi website and Mi Home Stores starting from February 22nd. The device also comes with a similar Jio offer like the Redmi Note 5. It comes with a Rs. 2200 cashback offer and 100% additional 4G data for Reliance Jio customers. It also comes with Black, Gold, Rose Gold and Blue colour options.
Redmi Note 5 Pro Specifications
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro features a 5.99-inch Full HD+ 18:9 2.5D curved glass display with 2160 × 1080 pixels resolution, 450 nits Brightness, 83% NTSC Color Gamut, 1500: 1 Contrast Ratio, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 Protection. It is powered by the new 1.8GHz octa-core Snapdragon 636 14nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 509 GPU Xiaomi has said that it has worked closely for this chipset development along with Qualcomm to provide the best performance. It comes with 4GB / 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM options along with a 64GB (eMMC 5.0) internal storage option that is expandable up to 128GB with a microSD card slot.
It runs on Android 7.1.2 (Nougat) with MIUI 9 similar to the Redmi Note 5 and supports hybrid Dual SIMs. It features a dual rear camera setup with a 12-megapixel camera having dual-tone LED Flash, Sony IMX486 sensor, 1.25μm pixel size, f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, along with a secondary 5-megapixel camera with Samsung sensor, 1.12μm pixel size and f/2.0 aperture.
It also comes with a 20-megapixel front-facing camera with a Sony IMX376 sensor, f/2.2 aperture, LED flash and 1080p video recording. The device will also get face unlock features via an OTA update by the end of March according to Xiaomi. it will be backed up by the same 4000mAh battery and connectivity options available are 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS. It has a fingerprint sensor on the rear side and also has an infrared sensor. It measures 158.6×75.4×8.05mm and weighs 181 grams.
