After FCC and TENAA approvals, Samsung launched the new flip-phone clamshell device Samsung W2018 in China in an official event in Xiamen, China with unique features. This new flip phone will be available via China Telecom carrier in the country, however, no details are about its pricing as of now. According to the rumours, the Samsung W2018 might be sold at a steep price of around $2000 in China aimed at rich people.

The Samsung W2018’s main highlight is its 12-megapixel camera which has the largest aperture of f/1.5. The phone comes with an adjustable f/1.5 lens that can allow in more light and brighter conditions, it can switch to f/2.4 aperture. This feature will also be available in the upcoming Galaxy S9 flagship next year according to the rumours.
The Samsung W2018 features dual 4.2-inches AMOLED full HD displays (internal and external) with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution and is powered by a 64-bit 2.35GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform (MSM 8998) with Adreno 540 GPU. It comes with 6GB of RAM and two storage options the Extreme Edition which comes with 64GB of internal storage and the Collector Edition which comes with 256GB of inbuilt storage capacity. TENAA listing says that it will also have a MicroSD card slot with up to 256GB of expandable storage slot.
It runs on the Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS out of the box comes with Bixby virtual assistant with a dedicated Bixby button and also has a Type-C port. It will be available with Elegant Gold and Platinum options. It will feature a 12-megapixel rear camera, as we discussed above, with an adjustable f/1.5 aperture lens and LED flash along with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
It comes with a 2300mAh built-in battery and comes with connectivity options such as 4G+, Bluetooth, WiFi IEEE 802.11 a / b / g / n / ac (2.4 GHz and 5. x GHz Dual-Band), NFC Type A/B, GPS and other options. It has a fingerprint scanner available on the rear side. It measures 132.2×63.2×15.9mm and weighs in at 247 grams.
In all, the Samsung SM-W2017 was launched last year in China and comes with two 4.2-inch Full HD Super AMOLED displays on both external and internal panels with 1080 × 1920 pixel resolution. It was powered by a 2.15GHz quad-core Snapdragon 820 processor and was having 4GB of RAM with 64GB inbuilt storage capacity and up to 256GB MicroSD card expandable storage capacity slot. It runs on the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS out of the box and supports dual-SIM.
It had features such as wireless fast charging, a fingerprint sensor on the rear side and support for Samsung Pay. It has a 12-megapixel rear camera with f/1.9 aperture, LED flash and 4K video recording and also features a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It has a 2300mAh battery with about 64 hours of standby time on a 4G network. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, ANT +, USB 2.0, GPS, Glonass, Beidou, Micro USB, WiFi 802.11 a / b / g / n / ac 2.4 + 5GHz, Bluetooth v4.1 and NFC. It measures 127.8 x 61.4 x 15.8 mm and weighs 208 grams.
