Huawei Maimang 6 announced with Kirin 659 processor, 4 cameras and a 3340mAh battery

After teasing its new device, Huawei has finally announced the new Huawei Maimang 6 smartphone in China today. The Maimang 6 will be available for sale as Huawei Mate 10 Lite outside China as per the rumours. The Huawei Maimang 6 is priced at 2399 yuan (around $364) and will be available for pre-order starting today in the country while the official shipping of the device will start this September 30.

It will be available with Obsidian Black, Streamer Gold and Aurora Blue colour options and it will be available along with Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro as Huawei Mate 10 Lite globally as the new flagships are going to launch next month. The main highlight of the Huawei Maimang 6 is its 4 cameras with dual camera setups on both sides of the device. It features a metal unibody design and comes with a full-screen display.

Maimang 6 specs

The Huawei Maimang 6 features a 5.9-inch Full HD+ 2.5D curved glass display with 2160 x 1080 pixels resolution and will be powered by an octa-core Kirin 659 processor (4 xA53 at 2.36GHz + 4 x A53 at 1.7GHz) with MaliT830-MP2 GPU. It comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage capacity that is further expandable up to 256GB with a microSD card slot. It runs on Android 7.0 (Nougat) with EMUI 5.1 out of the box this smartphone supports Hybrid Dual SIMs.

It features a dual camera setup on the rear side with a 16-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash along with a secondary 2-megapixel camera. The device also comes with a dual front facing camera with a 13-megapixel camera with soft LED flash along with a secondary 2-megapixel camera. The device is backed up by a 3340mAh battery and comes with connectivity options such as 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS / Glonass and NFC. It comes with a fingerprint scanner on the rear side near the dual camera setup. It measures 156.2 × 75.2 × 7.5mm and weights 164 grams.

To recall, the Maimang 5 was launched back last year with a 5.5-inch full HD 2.5D durved glass display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution, 2GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 625 14nm processor with Adreno 506 GPU, 3GB RAM + 32GB internal storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage options, microSD expandable storage slot with up to 128GB storage expansion, Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with EMUI 4.1, Dual-SIM.

It has a 16-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED Flash, an 8-megapixel front-facing camera, a 3340mAh battery and connectivity options like 4G LTE with VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, USB Type-C. It has a full metal unibody design and a fingerprint sensor is placed on the back of the phone capable of unlocking the device within 0.3 seconds. It measures 151.8×75.7×7.3mm and weights 160g.
