After many leaks and rumours, the Chinese company finally unveiled the Xiaomi Redmi A4 5G for the Indian market today. This new entry-level smartphone comes with a bigger 6.88-inch HD+ display, an Octa-Core Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 SOC, 4GB RAM, up to 128GB internal storage and a bigger battery. This device has a premium halo glass sandwich design on the rear side and a glass frame material. It also has a plastic middle frame. It has a dual rear camera but the official listing doesn’t mention anything about the secondary rear camera.

The new Xiaomi Redmi A4 5G is priced starting at INR 8499 having 4GB RAM and 64GB inbuilt storage and INR 9,499 for the 4GB RAM and 128GB inbuilt storage variant. It will be available in two colour options Starry Black and Sparkle Purple and will be available for sale starting November 27th in India via Amazon India, Mi Store and other offline stores in the country.

Xiaomi Redmi A4 5G features a stunning 6.88-inch HD+ (1600 x 720 pixels) waterdrop notch display with a 20:9 aspect ratio, 120Hz refresh rate, up to 600 nits of peak brightness and 90% screen-to-body ratio. It is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 4nm (2 GHz x 2 A78-based + 1.8GHz x 6 A55-based Kryo CPUs) processor with Adreno 611 GPU. It has 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM along with 64GB / 128GB UFS2.2 inbuilt storage which is a MicroSD card expandable up to 1TB.
It runs on the Android 14-based Xiaomi HyperOS and promised to get 2 Android upgrades with 4 years of security updates. It supports Dual SIM (nano + nano + microSD) slots. It has a dual rear camera with a 50MP main sensor having a f/1.8 aperture, full-HD 1080P video recording support @ 30FPS and there is also an unknown size secondary camera available which has no mention in the official specifications. We have a 5MP front camera with f/2.2 aperture and full-HD 1080P video recording support @ 30FPS.
It has a 5160mAh battery with 18W charging support and the company is including a free 33W wire charger in the box. It has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and comes with a 3.5mm audio jack and FM Radio. Connectivity options available are 5G SA (n1/n3/n5/n8/n28/n40/n78) with no NSA availability, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, USB Type-C. It has IP52 ratings for Splash and dust resistance. It measures 171.88×77.80×8.22mm and weighs 212.35 grams.
