Nokia X50 rumours. Nokia has recently released several budget models, including the X series. We already had the X10 and X20, but for some time there have been rumours about a potential flagship model for the series.
We bring together all the news and rumours about the Nokia X50 to see if it has the potential to take the Finnish brand to the top again.
When Will The Nokia X50 Be Released?
There have been speculations about the Nokia X50 for some time. The aforementioned Nokia X10 and Nokia X20 models debuted in June and May 2021, but when it comes to the X50 at the time, it remains a kind of variant device. Some sites, such as GSMArena, expected the X50 to go on sale in the third quarter of 2021, but that window came and went.
There may be good reasons for this, as a global processor shortage occurred last year, making it difficult and/or expensive to manufacture new devices; To see the scale of the problem, look at how difficult it is to get the latest generation game console or graphics card.
There are already more rumours about a possible name change for the ‘Nokia X50 Pro’. It remains a mystery whether this is a separate model or a new Nokia phone line.
Nokia has chosen to announce a new lineup at a special event in April 2021, which shows that it can do the same this year. On BestMobile24, we saw a report that the Nokia X50 Pro will go on sale on January 11, 2022, and the GadgetsNow will go on sale at the end of August 2022.
We’ve seen the Nokia X100 appear in November 2021, but it’s just a slightly modified Nokia X10 and not the premium device rumoured to be.
How Much Will The Nokia X50 Cost?
The price is twice the issue date. We can look to other members of the X-series family as an indication of how much to pay, but the final price may be higher considering the X50 or X50 Pro will be a high-end device.
- Nokia X10 – £249/€299/ (approx) $329
- Nokia X20 – £319/€399/ (approx) $420
What Features Will The Nokia X50 Offer?
There have been various reports citing leaks and other rumours about what we could see on the Nokia X50 / X50 Pro (depending on whether it’s the same device or not). GSM Arena reports that the X50 will come with a 6.5-inch QHD+ AMOLED display and will run at 120Hz.
According to the article, the device was expected to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 775 processor. We haven’t seen this particular chip yet, so the rumour may have fallen victim to ever-evolving tech terminology. Perhaps the Snapdragon 750G or 780G will be the ones that fit the bill instead. The latter is most likely because it is based on a 5 nm process at the same scale as the 775.
In terms of cameras, the GSMArena has an array of five sensors on the back controlled by a 108Mp main shooter with the help of ultra-wide, telephoto, macro and depth cameras. All of them are equipped with a giant 6000 mAh battery.
A separate report on GadgetsNow states that the processor is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of memory. It envisions a smaller 6.38-inch screen with a resolution of 1600 x 768 and the cameras are said to consist of four sensors: 48Mp, 5Mp, 2Mp and 2Mp.
BestMobile24 has a higher resolution than the Nokia X50, which it calls the Nokia X50 Pro 5G. It has a 7-inch Super AMOLED display, 10GB RAM and 256GB memory, Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset with quad cameras and 108 Mp, 32 Mp, 16 Mp and 5 mp sensors. The battery is also strictly sized with a 6900mAh capacity and is complemented by fast charging support.
We’ll update this article in more detail as soon as it comes out, but take a look at our guide to the best smartphones and best phones coming in 2022 to see if this Nokia is worth the wait.
