The Lenovo-owned, smartphone maker, Motorola today announced the new Motorola Defy rugged smartphone with Android OS that comes with military-grade durability and IP68 ratings making it a waterproof smartphone. This device is drop-proof to 1.8m and comes with MIL-SPEC 810H standards of the US military.

The screen of the device comes with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus with a 0.7mm thick layer adding additional display safety. It features a 6.5-inch HD+ LCD Max Vision display with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection usable with wet fingers and 1600×720 pixels resolution. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC with up to 2 GHz 4 x Kryo 260 Performance (Cortex A73-based) + Up to 1.8GHz 4 x Kryo 260 Efficiency (Cortex A53-based).

It also has an 8-megapixel camera on the front with an f/2.2 aperture. This device has a fingerprint sensor on the rear side integrated inside Motorola’s “M” logo.
