A new A-series smartphone has just been launched by Samsung with the name Samsung Galaxy A42 5G that will be available for sale in European markets soon. The Galaxy A42 5G comes with 5G support and runs on the Snapdragon 690 processor. It comes with a quad-camera setup on the rear side, has an in-display fingerprint scanner, a bigger battery and an Android 10 OS-based OneUI out of the box.

It has a bigger 6.6-inches AMOLED Infinity-U display and supports fast charging on its 5000 mAh battery. The Samsung Galaxy A42 5G is priced at 369 Euros (around $437) and will be available for sale in the European market starting in November in Black, White and Gray colours. The Samsung Galaxy A42 5G features a 6.6-inch Infinity-U Super AMOLED display with an Octa-Core (2GHz Dual + 1.7GHz Hexa) Snapdragon 690 Mobile Platform with Adreno 619L GPU powering the device. It comes with 4GB / 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 64GB / 128GB (UFS 2.1) of internal storage options with expandable storage up to 512GB via a micro SD card slot. It runs on the Android 10 OS with One UI 2.1 out of the box and supports Dual SIMs.

It has a quad-camera setup with a 48-megapixel main camera with LED flash, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, a 5-megapixel depth sensor, and a 5-megapixel macro sensor. It has a 20-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture. The device has a 5000mAh battery with fast charging support. It comes with connectivity options including 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS, USB Type-C, 3.5mm audio jack and Dolby Atmos support as well. It also has an in-display fingerprint sensor.

The company also announced the Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G foldable smartphone at the virtual event. It comes with 5G support, a foldable 7.6-inch edge-to-edge, nearly bezel-less Infinity-O Dynamic AMOLED 2x main Display and a 6.2-inch (2260 x 816 pixels) 25:9 HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity Flex cover display. It also has a similar punch-hole camera inside and on the cover display like the Note 20 series while it has a triple rear camera setup on the rear side. It runs on the Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ 7nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 650 GPU and comes with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM with 256GB / 512GB (UFS 3.1) internal storage options.

It runs on Android 10 with One UI 2.5 OS out of the box. It has a 4500mAh battery with 25W wired and 11W wireless (WPC and PMA) charging support. It has a triple rear camera with a 12-megapixel main camera with LED Flash, f/1.8 aperture, PDAF, OIS, another 12-megapixel Telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture, PDAF, OIS, 2x optical zoom, up to 10x digital zoom, a 12-megapixel 120° Ultra Wide sensor with f/2.2 aperture. It also has a 10-megapixel cover and a 10-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture.
