Xiaomi has launched the new budgeted smartphone Redmi 8A Dual in the Redmi series in India today. The device comes with a price tag of INR 6499 for the 2GB RAM + 32GB inbuilt storage variant and INR 6999 for the 3GB RAM + 32GB inbuilt storage variant. The device will be available via Amazon India website, Mi.com and Mi Home Stores from February 18th onwards. It will be available with Midnight Grey, Sea Blue and Sky White colour options. It comes with a plastic back with Aura X Grip and also comes with splash resistant nano-coating. This budgeted device comes with a bigger 5000mAh battery and supports 18W fast charging via USB Type-C port and comes bundled with 10W charger in the box. It also supports reverse charging like other high-end devices available in the market today.
The Redmi 8A Dual comes with a 6.22-inch HD+ 19:9 2.5D curved glass display with 70.8% NTSC colour gamut, 15001 contrast ratio, 270 PPI, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection and 1520 × 720 pixels resolution. It is powered by an Octa-Core (Quad 1.95GHz Cortex A53 + Quad 1.45GHz Cortex A53) Snapdragon 439 Mobile Platform with Adreno 505 GPU. It comes with 2GB and 3GB LPDDR3 RAM variants with 32GB eMMC 5.1 inbuilt storage option with expandable memory up to 512GB with microSD card slot. It runs on the Android 9.0 (Pie) based MIUI 11 on top and comes with Hybrid Dual SIM (nano + nano + microSD) support.
It has a dual rear camera with a 13-megapixel camera with LED flash, f/2.2 aperture along with a 2-megapixel secondary camera with f/2.4 aperture. It also has an 8–megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture. It has a 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support and comes with connectivity options such as Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n with VoWiFi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS, USB Type-C, 3.5mm audio jack and also supports wireless FM Radio support. It also comes with splash resistant P2i nano-coating. it measures 156.48×75.41×9.4mm and weight 188 grams.
