Nokia announced its flagship and most rumoured smartphone Nokia 9 PureView at the MWC in Barcelona today It comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner the main highlight of the phone is its Panta-rear camera setup which comes with a total of five 12-megapixel cameras with ZEISS Optics. It is capable of shooting 60-megapixel images in burst mode and processing up to 240 megapixels of data at one time.
“Each 12MP JPG image can benefit from outstanding detail in areas of both bright sunlight and dark shadows at the same time with incredible texture. The depth map allows beautiful bokeh, giving you the possibility to adjust focus in Google Photos after you have taken the shot,” said the Nokia in an official statement.
Nokia 9 PureView Price and Specs
The Nokia 9 PureView is priced at $699 and will go on sale in March in select markets with a Midnight Blue colour option. It features a 5.99-inch Quad HD pOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection and 2560×1440 pixels resolution. It is powered by the 2.8GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 845 64-bit 10nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 630 GPU. It comes with 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM with 128GB of (UFS) inbuilt storage capacity. It runs on Android 9.0 (Pie) and comes with Dual SIM support.
It has a 12-megapixel Panta-lens camera setup (2 x RBG, 3 x mono) with f/1.82 aperture and LED flash. It also has a 20-megapixel front-facing camera. It also comes with an in-display Fingerprint sensor and comes with a water-resistant (IP67) rating. It has a 3320mAh battery with fast charging and wireless charging support and comes with connectivity options such as Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS/ GLONASS, USB Type-C. It comes with a single speaker with a smart amp and 3 mics with spatial recording. It measures 155 x 75 x 8 mm and weighs 172 grams.
Nokia 210 Price and Specs
Nokia also launched the Nokia 210 feature phone at the official event which comes with a price tag of $35. It features a 2.4-inches QVGA display with dual SIM support but it doesn’t have 4G support and is a 2G series 30 feature phone. It comes with an S30+ operating system out of the box and is powered by the MediaTek MT6260A processor. It comes with Facebook, the classic Snake game and other apps including the Nokia download store to download other available apps for your phone.
It also comes with an FM radio and an MP3 player. It has 16MB of inbuilt storage capacity and features a VGA rear camera with LED flash. It has a removable BL-5C 1020 mAh battery which the company claims can offer up to 18 hours of talk time and a minimum standby time of up to 20 days. Connectivity features include GSM 900/1800, Dual SIM, and a micro USB port for charging. It measures 120.8 x 53.49 x 13.81 mm.

Nokia 9 PureView at FCC
The Nokia 9 was also spotted with model number TA-1005 at FCC and the approval documents confirmed that the new Nokia 9 will carry a 5.5-inch OLED display. The FCC approval documents also leaked other major specifications of this upcoming device. The approval documents further confirm that it will sport a 5.5-inch OLED display made by LG, however, the resolution of the display is not yet disclosed. This is the first time Nokia is using an OLED screen on their smartphones, after launching this year’s flagship Nokia 8 with an LCD.
FCC further confirms that the new device will have 128 GB of internal storage capacity i.e. a UFS2.1 storage drive made by Samsung for consistent performance and the device also supports external MicroSD card support. The device runs on the Android Oreo preloaded out of the box with Nokia’s near-stock UI. Talking about the battery, the FCC documents reveal that it will sport a 3250mAh battery with support for fast charging.
Nokia 9 PureView Leaked Specs
The device was also spotted on a Chinese micro-blogging site, Weibo, where pictures of the Nokia 9 sprang up, and this time Nokia seemed to up its game further. The images suggest that Nokia is going with a full metal body. The biggest highlight of this phone will be the front of the phone. The front looks strikingly similar to the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and confirmed that it will ditch the front fingerprint sensor and place it on the back instead for a more screen-to-body ratio score.
Nokia 9 PureView at GFXBench
The Nokia 9 was also listed by the benchmark website GFXBench which lists the key specifications of this unannounced device. The GFXBench listing also confirms the model numbers TA-1004, TA-1012, and TA-1052 for the device out of which, the first two model numbers were rumoured to be the Nokia 8 model numbers. The GFXBench listing confirmed that the Nokia 9 will feature a 5.3-inch QHD display with 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution and will be powered by the 2.4GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with Adreno 540 GPU.
GFXBench further confirmed that it will have 4GB RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage capacity and is also expected to feature a MicroSD card slot. It will run on the Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS out of the box and will support Dual SIMs. It will feature a dual rear camera with 12-megapixel sensors and will also have a 12-megapixel front-facing camera.
Nokia 9 PureView AnTuTu
At AnTuTu, the Nokia 9 was listed with model number TA-1004 and is listed with a QHD resolution display with 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution, if we check out the past rumours, it will have a 5.4-inch display. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with Adreno 540 GPU and will have 4GB of RAM with 64GB of inbuilt storage capacity.
It will run on the Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS out of the box according to the AnTuTu listing but some rumours have even claimed that it will run on the upcoming Android O OS out of the box. It is expected to have dual-SIM support. The AnTuTu listing further claims that the Nokia 9 smartphone will feature a 13-megapixel rear camera that will have an LED flash and a 13-megapixel front-facing camera is also available.
Nokia confirmed in the past that they will launch the Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 globally by Q2, 2017 end which means before June end. The Finland-based company HMD Global also confirmed that the Nokia Android device will be available worldwide by the end of June 2017 along with the Nokia 3310 2017 feature phone.
The Nokia 9 was also spotted at the Geekbench benchmark database twice with 8GB RAM and 4GB RAM options confirming that there will be two variants of the new Nokia flagship to be available. Nokia has also confirmed that all of their new Android-powered smartphone Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 will get the Android O update as soon it’s available from Google. In the confirmation statement, the HMD global representative confirmed to a Techradar representative that all three Nokia devices will receive it.
Representative said, “The smartphones will get the Android O update once the new release is available from Google for their OEM partners, the same way HMD Global is committed to the monthly Android security updates”. Nokia is also expected to launch three new devices apart from the Nokia 3, 5 and 6 and those are expected to be the high-end flagship Nokia devices.
Nokia 9 at Geekbench
Nokia 9 was also spotted at Geekbench confirming some of the specs. It was spotted with the name ‘Unknown Heart’ with 8GB RAM and a Snapdragon 835 processor inside. It was listed as running the Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS out of the box and was listed as powered by the 1.90 GHz octa-core Snapdragon 835 processor. The new Nokia flagships were also spotted by @evleaks when he posted a leaked promo video that comes with two new devices rumoured to be the new Nokia flagships with one having a dual rear camera.
A report also claimed that the new Nokia 9 smartphone will be the company’s flagship smartphone and will carry top-end specifications. The device is expected to feature a huge amount of RAM and a bigger battery than other flagship hardware.
