Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S Leaks
Xiaomi was also rumoured to launch a new variant of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 smartphone called Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S as the specifications details of this unannounced phone were leaked. This specifications leak was spotted by an XDA member who revealed the images via the device’s firmware files. According to the XDA member, the new device was code-named “Polaris” and will have high-end specifications including the latest Snapdragon 845 processor along with 8GB of RAM. It will carry 256 GB of internal storage capacity according to the leak.
In terms of design, according to the leaked renders, it seems that, finally, we will have a device that almost gets 100% screen, leaving a tiny area in the upper right area to house the internal camera. The main camera, according to rumours, would have a Sony IMX363 sensor, something that is confirmed in the firmware files. As far as the display is concerned, everything indicates that it will have an aspect ratio of 18:9 or 2:1 and its resolution will remain in FullHD+.
It will be powered by a battery of 3,400mAh and will run out of the box on the Android 8.0 Oreo OS. What does that mean? That, effectively, will be compatible with Project Treble, so the problems of updates with Xiaomi are over. At the same time, some leaked schematics suggest that the device will have a fingerprint sensor under the screen something we have already seen in another Chinese smartphone in the past. On the other hand, regarding the camera, the device’s rear camera will have support for Artificial Intelligence functions.
The stock camera leak of the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S has confirmed scene recognition functions, which are very similar to what the Huawei Mate 10 offers. Finally, it should be noted that the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S will be a Dual SIM device and will have support for an infrared sensor and a small LED, possibly to warn about notifications. This is all that is known so far, but we will be attentive to all the new information that can circulate through the network to make it arrive as soon as possible.
