Motorola has just announced its new flagship Moto Z3 smartphone in an official event with no signs of the launch of the Motorola One Android One and Moto Z3 Force smartphones. Moto Z3 is the second smartphone in the Moto Z3 series as the company has already launched the Moto Z3 Play. The company might launch them separately in a separate event in the coming weeks.

The Moto Z3 has a dual rear camera and comes with Moto Mod compatible pins and is launched with a 5G Moto Mod that also has an extra 2000mAh battery capacity which will make it the world’s first smartphone that will have access to Verizon’s 5G network when it will be launched in select areas in 2019 in the USA.

Motorola Moto Z3 Price

The Moto Z3 is priced at $480 with no contract or on contract at $20 per month for 24 months through Verizon with orders starting on August 16 in the US. The 5G Moto Mod will be sold separately exclusively in early 2019 but the company hasn’t announced any pricing details of the Moto Mod.

The Moto Z3 comes with Corning Gorilla Glass protection on the front and back and comes with a lightweight, aircraft-grade 6000 series aluminum frame. This is the first time when Motorola has placed the fingerprint scanner on the side of the device just like the Sony Xperia smartphones. It has a bigger 6-inch display without a notch.

The Motorola Moto Z3 features a 6-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and 1080 x 2160 pixels resolution. It is powered by a 2.45GHz Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform with Adreno 540 GPU. It comes with 4GB of RAM along with 64GB of internal storage that is expandable up to 2TB with the help of a microSD card. It runs on the Android 8.1 (Oreo) OS out of the box and will get Android P in the future.

It features a dual rear camera with two 12-megapixel sensors (monochrome + RGB) with f/2.0 aperture, 1.25um pixel size, Laser Autofocus (pDAF), Color Correlated Temperature (CCT) dual LED flash, Zero Shutter Lag (ZSL). It has an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture, 1.12um pixel size, wide-angle 84° lens, and screen flash. It is backed up by a 3000mAh battery with Turbocharging fast charging support and connectivity options available are 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4 GHz + 5 GHz), Bluetooth 5 LE, GPS, NFC and USB Type-C.

It comes with water-repellent nano-coating and has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The device has front-ported loudspeakers, 4 far-field mic systems, and USB Type-C audio. It measures 76.5 x 156.5 x 6.75 mm and weighs 156 grams. The Motorola One Android One smartphone renders (via) have also been leaked which hints towards a new Motorola One series of smartphones.

Lenovo-owned Motorola announced that it is holding an official event next month on August 2nd in Chicago, USA where the company is expected to announce the new Android One smartphone rumoured as Motorola One along with the Motorola One Power, Z3 and the flagship Z3 Force. In the official YouTube-based video trailer, the company says, “Mark your calendar. On August 2, we’re making a big announcement at Motorola’s HQ in Chicago. Say “hello” to a whole new way to connect, stream, download, video chat, and more. Are you ready?” So “BIG” here might be the new Moto Z3 and Moto Z3 Force smartphones as the Moto Z3 Play is already out and available for sale in multiple markets.
