Sharp has launched a new smartphone today in the AQUOS series with the name SHARP AQUOS R2 that comes with flagship series specifications and design. The device has a dual rear camera and comes with a fingerprint scanner on the front panel. It is the successor to the last year’s AQUOS R smartphone launched in April of last year’s flagship series specifications.
The new AQUOS R2 will be available with Premium Black, Platinum White, Aquamarine, Coral Pink and Rose Red colour options but no details are currently available about its pricing. The device will go on sale this summer according to the company’s official statement. The device is launched in Japan and we can expect it to launch in more regions soon.
SHARP AQUOS R2 Specs
The SHARP AQUOS R2 features a 6-inch WQuad HD+ 19:9 IGZO LCD 2.5D curved glass display, 100 Hz refresh rate and 3040 × 1440 pixels resolution and is powered by a 2.8GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 845 64-bit 10nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 630 GPU. It comes with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage (UFS) capacity that is further expandable up to 400GB with a microSD card slot. It runs on the Android 8.0 (Oreo) OS out of the box and comes with a dual SIM option. It also comes with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos features.
It comes with a dual rear camera with a 22.6-megapixel camera with LED Flash along with a secondary 16.3-megapixel video camera with a 135-degree ultra-wide-angle lens. It also comes with a 16.3-megapixel front-facing camera for selfie lovers. it is backed up by a 3130 mAh battery with fast charging support.
It comes with connectivity options such as 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4/5GHz), MIMO, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS with GLONASS and USB Type-C port. It is a water and dust-resistant smartphone (IPX 5 – IPX8 / IP6X) and has a fingerprint sensor on the front panel below the display. It measures 156 × 74 × 9 mm and weighs 181 grams.
