Xiaomi has finally launched the new Redmi Note 5 series devices exclusively for the Indian market that comes with a similar design to the Redmi Note 4 but has launched a new Pro variant that comes with a dual rear camera setup just like the iPhone X. So the users willing to upgrade can upgrade to Redmi Note 5 Pro smartphone over Redmi Note 4. The new Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro will be available in India via e-commerce giant Flipkart, Mi online store and offline stores starting February 22nd and will be available with two variants.
It comes with Black, Gold, Rose Gold and Lake Blue colour options. It is priced at Rs. 9999 (around $156) for the 3GB RAM + 32GB inbuilt storage variant while the 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage variant is priced at Rs. 11,999 (around $187). The device is also bundled with a clear case in the box as well. The device comes with Rs. 2200 cashback offer and 100% additional 4G data for Reliance Jio customers.
The Redmi Note 5 has similar features and designs to the Redmi 5 Plus that was launched last year in China. It features a 5.99-inch Full HD+ 18:9 2.5D curved glass display with 2160 × 1080 pixels, 450 nits Brightness, 84% NTSC Color Gamut, 1000: 1 Contrast Ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by the 2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 14nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 506 GPU and comes with 3GB of RAM with 32GB internal storage, 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage options and both having support for expandable storage with up to 128GB storage.
It runs on Android 7.1.2 (Nougat) with MIUI 9 on top and supports Hybrid Dual SIMs. It features a 12-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED Flash, 1.25μm pixel size, f/2.2 aperture, and PDAF and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with LED flash and f/2.0 aperture. It has a 4000mAh battery and connectivity options available are 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS. It has a fingerprint sensor on the rear side and an infrared sensor as well. It measures 158.5 x 75.45 x 8.05mm and weighs 180 grams.
