Nokia 8 was announced on August 17 with Snapdragon 835 and other top-end flagship features and the company behind the Nokia phones HMD Global announced the Android 8 Oreo beta for the Nokia 8 via Beta labs. Earlier this month, Juho Sarvikas, the Chief Product Officer at HMD Global, confirmed that beta testing of Android Oreo is complete and the official stable rollout will begin in a few days, and today, the day has come when the company has announced that the official stable Android 8.0 Oreo update will begin today with the Nokia 8 smartphones across the world.
Juho Sarvikas, the Chief Product Officer at HMD Global, tweeted, “Ok, here we go Reviewed your feedback, Everything is polished, Official update rolling out today! #AndroidOreo #Nokia8 #Oreo #Nokiamobilebetalabs” and some users have started confirming that they are getting the stable update on their Nokia 8 phones.

The new Android 8 Oreo update comes with a v4.35j built number and weighs 1518MB in size. The update not only comes with Oreo goodies but also comes with a November security update. The official change log shows that the new update brings new features such as faster boot-ups notification dots, auto-fill passwords and much more.
The Android 8.0 Oreo update will bring several new changes to the Nokia 8 UI and improvements including the redesigned settings menu, new file manager, new background restriction for battery improvements, Snooze individual notifications, new gestures for fingerprint, picture-in-picture mode, new battery menu, Rescue party, adaptive icons, notification badges on the home screen and many other useful features as well.
To recall, the Nokia 8 was announced in August with a full aluminum unibody design that is machined from a single block of 6000 series aluminum with a polished mirror finish. It comes with a 5.3-inch Quad HD LLCDwith 2560×1440 pixels resolution, sculpted Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection and 700 nits brightness, octa-core Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform with Adreno 540 GPU, 6GB of DDR4X RAM with 128GB (UFS 2.1) internal storage option and 4GB of DDR4X RAM with 64GB (UFS 2.1) internal storage, MicroSD card expandable storage up to 256GB.
It comes with Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) OS upgradable to Android O, Hybrid Dual SIM, a dual rear camera with a 13-megapixel colour sensor that comes with OIS and a secondary 13-megapixel Mono sensor with ZEISS optics, 1.12um pixel size, f/2.0 aperture, 76.9-degree wide-angle lens, PDAF, IR range finder and dual tone flash.
It comes with a 13-megapixel auto focus front-facing camera with display flash, ZEISS optics, PDAF, a 3090mAh non-removable battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0, connectivity options iinclude4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (MIMO), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/ GLONASS, USB Type-C 3.1 Gen 1 and NFC. It has a fingerprint sensor available on the physical home button on the front and also comes with a barometer.
