OnePlus has now launched the new OnePlus 5T smartphone in an official event in New York It comes with upgraded features and design from its predecessor OnePlus 5 which was launched earlier this year. The OnePlus 5T was recently leaked in several unboxing videos on YouTube and was also spotted at GFXbench benchmark that confirmed most of the specifications of the device again.

OnePlus 5T Price
The OnePlus 5T is priced at $499 for the 6GB RAM with 64GB inbuilt storage variant while the 8GB RAM with 128GB inbuilt storage variant is priced at $559 in the U.S. which is the same as its predecessor. In India, the phone is priced at Rs. 32,999 for the 6GB RAM with 64GB storage variant and 8GB RAM with 128GB version comes with Rs. 37,999 price tag.
In Canada, it’s priced at CAD 660 for 6GB RAM with 64GB inbuilt storage variant and CAD 730 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB inbuilt storage option. For the UK and Europe, it’s priced at £450 and £500 for the 6GB RAM + 64GB inbuilt storage and 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variants, respectively. In the UK, O2 is selling the device, in Denmark, it’s being sold by carrier Three and in Finland, it is being sold by carrier Elisa.
5T Specs
The OnePlus 5T comes with an 80.5% screen-to-body ratio and with DCI-P3 colour coverage and the fingerprint sensor has been moved to the back of the phone that can unlock the phone in just 0.2 seconds. The OnePlus 5T features a 6.01-inch Full HD+ Optic AMOLED 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 5 display with 2106 ×1080 pixels, sRGB and DCI-P3 colour coverage. It has a 2.45GHz octa-core Snapdragon 835 64-bit 10nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 540 GPU. It comes with 6GB LPDDR4x RAM + 64GB UFS 2.1 storage, 8GB LPDDR4x RAM + 128GB UFS 2.1 internal storage options. It runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with Oxygen 4.7 OS out of the box and is upgradable to Android 8.0 (Oreo) which is coming to the phone next year according to the company. It also supports Dual SIMs.
It features a dual rear camera with a 16-megapixel camera with dual LED Flash, Sony IMX398 sensor, f/1.7 aperture, 1.12μm pixel size, EIS and a secondary 20-megapixel camera with f/1.7 aperture, Sony IMX376K sensor, 1.0μm pixel size, 4K at 30fps, 1080p at 60 fps, 720p slow motion at 120fps. It also comes with a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with a Sony IMX371 sensor, 1.0μm pixel size and f/2.0 aperture.
It has a 3300mAh battery with Dash Charge fast charging and comes with 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac dual-band (2×2 MU-MIMO ), Bluetooth 5.0 aptX HD, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou, USB 2.0 Type-C, NFC, 3.5mm audio jack connectivity options and also comes with audio enhancement features such as 3 microphones with noise cancellation and Dirac HD sound. It has a fingerprint sensor on the rear side. It measures 156.1x75x7.3mm and weighs 162 grams.
OnePlus 5T at GFXBench
At GFXBench, OnePlus 5T is listed with a 6-inch full-HD+ display with 2160 x 1080 pixels resolution and is powered by a 2.4GHz octa-core Snapdragon 835 processor with Adreno 540 GPU. It is listed with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of inbuilt storage capacity. It runs on the Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS with OxygenOS out of the box.
GFXbench listing says that it features a 16-megapixel rear and 16-megapixel front-facing cameras but we already know that it will feature a dual rear camera with a Sony IMX398 16-megapixel rear camera having dual-tone LED Flash along with a secondary Sony IMX 376k 20-megapixel camera with f/1.7 aperture and 2.0μm pixel size. It also comes with a 20-megapixel front-facing camera. No other details about the device are available via its GFXBench listing.
OnePlus 5T Leaked Images
The images and specifications of the device were leaked with full unboxing of the device. ZDNet has leaked the images from the device online that show high-quality images of the device and also has some images that come with full official specifications of the device. Zdnet however, now has removed the images as requested by OnePlus after they received two take-down emails from the smartphone company. The images confirm that the device will be the same as the recently launched Oppo R11S with similar specifications.

According to the leaked images, the OnePlus 5T will feature a 6.01-inch Full HD+ 18:9 AMOLED display with 2160×1080 pixels resolution, 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5, DCI-P3 and 401ppi. It will be powered by a 2.45GHz octa-core Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform with Adreno 540 GPU. It comes with 6GB / 8GB of RAM and 64GB /128GB UFS 2.1 2-lane of internal storage. It will have Anodized Aluminum built quality run on Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) with ColorOS 3.2 and come with Hybrid Dual SIM slots.
It features a dual rear camera with a Sony IMX398 16-megapixel rear camera having dual-tone LED Flash along with a secondary Sony IMX 376k 20-megapixel camera with f/1.7 aperture and 2.0μm pixel size. It also comes with a 20-megapixel front-facing camera. It is backed up by a 3300mAh non-removable battery with Dash Charging and it has a fingerprint sensor available on the rear side. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS + GLONASS, NFC, USB Type-C and a 3.5mm audio jack. It measures 155.1 x 75.5 x 7.1mm and weighs 153 grams.

So it is the same device that Oppo has launched but this one comes with better specifications and hardware. The design is the same with the same dual camera on the rear side, a fingerprint scanner on the rear side the same 6.01-inches display. The battery is slightly upgraded from Oppo R11S’s battery. So let’s wait for November 16th when this device will be officially launched by the company.
OnePlus 5T Teaser
OnePlus confirmed that it will launch the successor to the OnePlus 5 called OnePlus 5T on November 16th in Brooklyn, New York. The company started sending the invites for the official event and this time company will charge $40 per attendee and the collected money will be donated to charity by the company. OnePlus 5T will have a full-screen display and will have a 3.5mm audio jack as well. After its launch on November 16th, it will be available for sale starting November 21st in North America and Europe. It will be available via flash sale on the same day in India and in China, it will arrive on December 1st.
