Google is going to launch its new Pixel series flagship devices soon rumoured to be launched Google Pixel 2 and Google Pixel 2 XL which will be the successors to the last year’s Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones. A few months back, HTC launched their new flagship HTC U11 which comes with an Active Edge squeeze interaction feature with which the users can access several apps and use other features of the phone by squeezing the edges of the phone making it a unique smartphone.
Looks like, Google’s upcoming Pixel devices will also get this Edge Squeeze feature as one of the upcoming Pixel devices Google Pixel 2 has just received FCC approval in the US and one of the screenshots from the settings menu of the device has confirmed that the upcoming Google Pixel 2 smartphone will also have the Active Edge squeeze interaction feature.
The FCC approval documents not only confirm the Edge Sense Squeeze feature for the upcoming pixel devices but have also confirmed the 64GB inbuilt storage option for it. The screenshot further confirms that the new Pixel device runs on the Android 8.0.1 OS out of the box. It comes with the model number G011A and it’s confirmed that HTC will be the manufacturer of the Google Pixel 2 smartphone. The documents, however, don’t have any images from the device and other specifications of the device.
Google Pixel 2 specs
The Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL were previously leaked in renders and some of the specs from both of the devices were also leaked. As per the rumours, the Google Pixel 2 XL codenamed Taimen will feature a 5.99-inch QHD LG AMOLED display with 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution and will be powered by the 2.45GHz Snapdragon 835 or 836 processor with Adreno 540 GPU. It will have 4GB of RAM and 128 GB of inbuilt storage capacity. It will have a single rear camera with dual LED flash and will have a fingerprint scanner on the rear side.
The smaller Google Pixel 2 smartphone codenamed Walleye will feature a 4.97-inch AMOLED QHD display and according to the rumors it will also be powered by the 2.45GHz Snapdragon 835 processor with Adreno 540 GPU. It will have 4GB of RAM and 64 GB of inbuilt storage capacity. It will have a similar design to the current Google Pixel with large Bezels.
It will also have a single rear camera with dual LED flash and will have a fingerprint scanner on the rear side that will also be out of the black window just like its bigger brother. The device will have a bigger battery as compared with its predecessor. The Google Pixel 2 will ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack for the set of stereo speakers.
