Google is long rumoured to be working on the new Google Pixel 2 and Google Pixel 2 XL flagships and is expected to launch them later this year. Pixel 2, the smaller variant is coded named “Walleye” whereas the bigger variant Google Pixel 2 XL is coded named “Taimen”. The bigger Google Pixel 2 XL has just been leaked out in an HD render leaked by AndroidPolice.
According to the source, the new Google Pixel 2 XL will be manufactured by LG and will feature HTC’s Squeeze feature which HTC calls Edge Sense feature. The users can Squeeze the phone from the sides to access various functions of the phone like launching the Google Assistant and others. The fingerprint scanner is now moved out of the glass window area and is now placed below that glass window.
Pixel 2 XL specs
The Google Pixel 2 XL comes with a large 6-inch AMOLED display with a 2:1 aspect ratio minimal bezel and rounded corners on the edges of the display. As per the rumours, the Google Pixel 2 XL codenamed Taimen will feature a 5.99-inch QHD LG AMOLED display with 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution and will be powered by the 2.45GHz Snapdragon 835 processor with Adreno 540 GPU.
It will have 4GB of RAM and 128 GB of inbuilt storage capacity. It will have a single rear camera with dual LED flash. The device will have a fingerprint scanner on the rear side but this time it will be out of the black window. The device will have a bigger battery as compared with its predecessor.
The smaller Google Pixel 2 smartphone codenamed Walleye will feature a 4.97-inch AMOLED QHD display and according to the rumors it will also be powered by the 2.45GHz Snapdragon 835 processor with Adreno 540 GPU. It will have 4GB of RAM and 64 GB of inbuilt storage capacity. It will have a similar design to the current Google Pixel with large Bezels.
It will also have a single rear camera with dual LED flash and will have a fingerprint scanner on the rear side that will also be out of the black window just like its bigger brother. The device will have a bigger battery as compared with its predecessor. The Google Pixel 2 will ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack for the set of stereo speakers.
