Samsung launches Galaxy J7 Pro and Galaxy J7 Max in India

Expanding the Galaxy J series lineup of smartphones, Samsung today launched two new smartphones in India with the names Galaxy J7 Pro and Galaxy J7 Max. The company announced this device via an official blog post. The Galaxy J7 Pro is the Indian variant of the Galaxy J7 2017 launched last week by the company along with the Galaxy J5 2017. The Galaxy J7 Max comes with a bigger 5.7-inch display and both devices support Samsung Pay as well. Both also feature a metal unibody design and also have fingerprint scanners.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro is priced at Rs. 20,900 and the Galaxy J7 Max is priced at Rs. 17,900. Both come with Black and Gold colour options. The Galaxy J7 Pro will be available in mid-July while the Galaxy J7 Max will be available starting June 20th in the country.

The Galaxy J7 Pro features a 5.5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED 2.5D curved glass display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and is powered by a 1.6GHz octa-core Exynos 7870 processor with Mali T830 GPU. It has 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 64GB of internal storage capacity that is further expandable up to 256GB with a microSD card. It runs on the Android 7.0 (Nougat) OS out of the box and supports Dual SIMs.

It features a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and f/1.7 aperture and we also have a 13-megapixel front-facing camera with LED flash and a f/1.9 aperture. A 3600mAh battery is backing up the device and we have 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and other connectivity options as well. The phone comes with a fingerprint scanner on the physical home button on the front and it measures 152.4×74.7×7.9mm.

The bigger Galaxy J7 Max features a 5.7-inch Full HD TFT IPS 2.5D curved glass display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and is powered by a 1.6GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P20(MT6757V) 64-bit processor with ARM Mali T880 GPU. It comes with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage capacity that is further expandable up to 128GB with a microSD card slot.

It also runs on the Android 7.0 (Nougat) OS and supports Dual SIMs. It supports Samsung Pay Mini and has a fingerprint scanner on the front physical home button. It features a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, f/1.7 aperture and a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and f/1.9 aperture. A comparatively smaller battery is available of 3300mAh for a device having the name “Max” in it. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and others.

Both the new smartphones also come with Ultra Data Saving, S bike mode and S power planning features. The Galaxy J7 Max comes with the Smart Glow 2.0 feature with its rear-facing camera just like the Galaxy J2 2016. We still have to wait for the global release of these two smartphones which might happen soon. Stay tuned.
