After so many predictions about the Huawei Honor 9 launch date on different dates recently, Honor has launched yet another teaser on their Weibo page that now says that the Honor 9 will launch on June 12 and this time it looks real as the teaser comes with the big “9” number inside followed by dual rings that hint towards the launch event of the device.
The Honor 9 received the TENAA approval last month which revealed the images and the specifications of the upcoming Honor flagship. The TENAA listing of the Honor 9 confirmed another premium rear dual camera with a fingerprint scanner on the front-facing physical home button. Let’s check out the specifications of the device once again.
The Huawei Honor 9 was spotted at TENAA with a bunch of new model numbers including the model numbers STF-AL00, STF-TL10 and STF-AL10 with 4GB and 6GB of RAM options. The TENAA listing shows that the new Honor 9 flagship will feature a 5.15-inch full-HD TFT display with 1920 × 1080 pixels resolution and is powered by a 2.4GHz octa-core processor that is expected to be a HiSilicon Kirin 960 high-end processor.
It comes with 4GB and 6GB RAM options along with 64GB and 128GB inbuilt storage options which is expandable via a MicroSD card slot up to 128GB storage. It runs on the Android 7.0 Nougat OS out of the box but we may expect that the Huawei Honor 9 will be launched with Android 7.1.1 or with Android O at the time of its launch. It is expected to come with dual-SIM support as well.
The Honor 9 will feature a dual rear camera with 12-megapixel + 2-megapixel cameras with dual tone dual LED flash while it also has an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for selfie lovers. It is backed up by a 3100mAh battery and connectivity options expected to be available are 4G LTE with VoLTE, 3G, Bluetooth, GPS, WiFi and other options as well.
It measures 147.3 × 70.9 × 7.45 mm and weighs 155 grams. It comes with a Gold colour option in all three TENAA listings. It comes with a metal frame with a glass back and this time the Honor 9 will have a fingerprint scanner on the front physical home button instead of the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.
The predecessor of Honor 9 called the Honor 8 was launched last year with a 5.2-inch full HD 2.5D curved glass display with 96% NTSC colour gamut and 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution, octa-core Kirin 950 (2.3GHz 4 x A72 + 1.8GHz 4 x A53) 16nm processor with Mali T880-MP4 GPU, 3GB RAM + 32GB inbuilt storage, 4GB RAM + 32GB / 64GB internal storage options, microSD card expandable storage up to 128GB.
