Samsung is soon going to launch the Samsung SM-W2017 outside China and is expected to launch it in Korea first. Now a new flip phone with model number SM-G9298 has just got the TENAA approval in China revealing the specifications and images of this unannounced device and looks like it will be the global variant of the Samsung SM-W2017 that was available in China as of now.
This new flip-phone comes with similar specifications to the Samsung SM-W2017 and comes with a dual display, 2300mAh battery, 4GB RAM and other similar specs. The Samsung SM-W2017 was launched last year and was expected to be priced at more than 20,000 yuan in China which is around $3000. There is no news available if it’s available for sale in China currently or not and for what price.
The Samsung SM-G9298 is listed at TENAA with dual 4.2-inch AMOLED full HD displays with 1920 × 1080 pixel resolution and is powered by a 2.15GHz quad-core processor that will be the Snapdragon 820 processor. It comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage capacity and also supports expandable MicroSD card storage with up to 256GB storage capacity. It runs on the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS out of the box and we can expect it to be officially launched with Android Nougat. It might be available with Dual-SIMs but we have to wait for the official confirmation first.
The Samsung SM-G9298 comes with a 12-megapixel rear LED flash camera along with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It is backed up by a 2300mAh battery and connectivity options expected to be available are 4G voLTE, 3G, 2g, Bluetooth, WiFi and other standard connectivity options. It also comes with a fingerprint scanner on the rear side below the rear camera lens. It measures 127.7 × 61.4 × 15.87 mm and weighs 234 grams. It is listed at TENAA with black colour options.
To recall, the Samsung W2017 was launched last year with a 4.2-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display on both external and internal panels with 1080 × 1920 pixel resolution, a 2.15GHz quad-core Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB inbuilt storage capacity, up to 256GB MicroSD card expandable storage capacity, Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS, dual-SIMs, Always On Display, wireless fast charging, a fingerprint sensor on the rear side, Samsung Pay, a 12-megapixel rear camera with f/1.9 aperture, LED flash and 4K video recording and also features a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, a 2300mAh battery with about 64 hours of standby time on 4G network, 4G LTE, ANT +, USB 2.0 and other options.
