Today, Huawei launched a new mid-range smartphone in the Huawei Y series with the name Huawei Y7 which will be the global variant of the Chinese-only Huawei Enjoy 7 Plus launched recently in China. The Enjoy 7 Plus has a fingerprint scanner but the Y7 doesn’t have any fingerprint scanner available. Other designs and features of the device are similar to the Enjoy 7 Plus. It features a unibody metal design and comes with a decent-sized battery for excellent backup with mixed usage. It comes with Grey, Prestige Gold and Silver colour options whereas, no details are available about its pricing and availability details as of now.

It will be available with a budgeted price tag and we can expect that the company to announce the pricing and availability details of the device soon. The Huawei Y7 features a 5.5-inch HD 2.5D curved glass display with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution and is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 435 processor (4 x Cortex A53 1.4GHz + 4 x Cortex A53 1.1GHz) with Adreno 505 GPU.

It comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage that is expandable up to 128GB with a microSD card slot. It runs on the Android 7.0 Nougat OS out of the box with EMUI 5.1 on top. It supports a hybrid Dual SIM slot that supports nano + nano SIMs or 1 SIM+ microSD card.

It features a 12-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash, PDAF, 1.25 μm pixel sensor and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for selfie lovers. It is backed up by a 4000mAh battery and we have several connectivity options like 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, GPS / GLONASS and FM Radio support. It measures 153.6 x 76.4 x 8.35mm and weighs 165 grams. The device also supports several sensors including a Proximity sensor, an Ambient light sensor, a Compass, a Gravity sensor and a phone status indicator.

To recall, the Huawei Enjoy 7 Plus was launched with similar specifications with the difference of a fingerprint scanner. 5.5-inch HD 2.5D curved glass display with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution, octa-core Snapdragon 435 processor (4 x Cortex A53 1.4GHz + 4 x Cortex A53 1.1GHz) with Adreno 505 GPU, 3GB RAM + 32GB inbuilt storage, 4GB RAM + 64GB storage, microSD expandable storage up to 128GB, Android 7.0 Nougat with EMUI 5.1, Hybrid Dual SIM.

It has a 12-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, an 8-megapixel front-facing camera, a 4100mAh battery, 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, GPS / GLONASS, fingerprint sensor. It measures 153.6 x 76.4 x 8.35mm and weighs 165 grams. The Huawei Enjoy 7 Plus was priced at 1499 yuan (around $217) and we can expect a price similar to that for the Huawei Y7 as well.
