Recently we got reports that Samsung is going to sell the returned Samsung Galaxy Note 7 units as refurbished phones in the countries outside US. The company has recently got FCC approval in the US for the model numbers SM-N935KOR, SM-N935K, SM-N935L, SM-N935K and SM-N935S and are expected to be launched as Samsung Galaxy Note 7R in Korea and a new rumour now claims that the Galaxy Note 7R will be available for sale in the home country Korea in late May or early June via various telecom operators in the country like SK Telecom, KT and LG Uplus.
Galaxy Note 7R Rumors
According to the reports the Galaxy Note 7R might cost 50% less than the original cost of the Galaxy Note 7 smartphone. The Galaxy Note 7R is expected to be priced at KRW500,000 or $440 if we believe the latest report from Korean media, however, previous reports claimed that it might cost around $620. The further claims that Samsung has removed the old 3500mAh batteries from these refurbished phones and placed a 3200Mah battery in each refurbished unit of the Galaxy Note 7R but the question is “Will the people buy it at lower costs?”
The answer might be ‘Yes’ here because why avoid buying a flagship smartphone at a cheaper price tag? The device will run on the Android Nougat 7.0 whereas, the other specifications of the device will remain the same as the original Galaxy Note 7.
The Refurbished Galaxy Note 7 codenamed ‘Grace R’ has just got the FCC approval with model number SM-N935KOR It will be the model number for Korea and as it has got the FCC approval we may expect the launch of the device in Korea and the US simultaneously. The FCC documents for the Refurbished Galaxy Note 7 (SM-N935KOR) show the tests and confirm other model numbers again like SM-N935K, SM-N935L and SM-N935K, SM-N935S.
The refurbished Galaxy Note 7 or Galaxy Note 7R will have the same features as the original Note 7 and will be available for a lower price than the original one. There is no news available when the company will launch it but we may expect it to be available in the next one or two months. The main concern of this refurbished Note 7 variant will be its battery and we are sure that Samsung won’t be taking any further risks regarding user safety and will implement safety measures to avoid any incidents with the refurbished Note 7s.

It features a 12-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash, dual-pixel PDAF, Smart OIS, f/1.7 aperture and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with f/1.7 aperture, a 3500mAh battery with fast charging and wired and wireless charging support, 4G LTE Cat.12, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2X2 MIMO), Bluetooth 4.2 LE, NFC, USB Type-C and also comes with S Pen stylus, Heart rate sensor, Fingerprint sensor, Iris scanner, Barometer. It measures 153.5 x 73.9 x 7.9mm and weighs 169g. Colour options include Blue Coral, Gold Platinum, Silver Titanium and Black Onyx.
