Finally, the Chinese Xiaomi has launched its new flagship Xiaomi Mi 6 with the latest hardware and other new features. The Xiaomi Mi 6 comes with Bright Blue, Bright Black and White colour options along with an additional Silver colour edition featuring a reflective mirror finish Stainless steel frame and a Ceramic variant with an 18K gold finish around the camera.

The Mi 6 is priced at 2499 yuan (around $360) for the 6GB RAM + 64GB internal storage option, 2899 yuan (around $421) for the 6GB RAM + 128GB inbuilt storage option and 2999 yuan (around $435) for the 6GB RAM + 128GB inbuilt storage with a ceramic body. The Mi 6 will be available for sale in China starting April 28th. No details are currently available about its global availability and pricing.

The Xiaomi Mi 6 comes with an under-glass ultrasonic fingerprint sensor at the front home button and also comes with an infrared sensor on the top. The company has ditched the 3.5mm headphone jack but still comes with a USB Type-C port that can be used for connecting USB cables and earphones. The device is splash-resistant but doesn’t have the water-resistant and dust-resistant capabilities. It comes with two 12-megapixel sensors on the rear side for DSLR-like quality images.

The Xiaomi Mi 6 features a 5.15-inch Full HD display with 1920×1080 pixels resolution, 600 nits brightness, 94.4% NTSC colour gamut and 1500:1 contrast ratio. It is powered by a 2.45GHz octa-core Snapdragon 835 64-bit 10nm processor with Adreno 540 GPU and comes with 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM with 64GB / 128GB (UFS) internal storage options. It runs on the Android 7.1.1 Nougat-based MIUI 8 and comes with dual-SIM support. The device comes with an Ultrasonic Fingerprint sensor and an infrared sensor and is Splash-resistant as we discussed earlier.

It features a dual rear camera with a 12-megapixel sensor having 1.25μm pixel size, f/1.8 aperture, dual-tone LED flash, 4-axis OIS, 4K video recording and another 12-megapixel sensor with 1.0 μm pixel size, 52mm portrait lens, f/2.6 aperture. It also comes with an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. The device is backed by a 3350mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 and 18W fast charging. It also comes with stereo speakers and supports 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11ac dual-band (2×2 MU-MIMO ), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou, NFC and USB Type-C connectivity options. It measures 145.17x 70.49×7.45 mm and weighs 168 grams for the non-ceramic variant and 182 grams for the ceramic variant.

The Chinese company confirmed via their Weibo post that it will launch the Xiaomi Mi6 on April 19th in China at the Beijing University of Technology Gymnasium in an official event. The AnTuTu listing for the Xiaomi Mi6 suggests that this flagship device will be launched with a full-HD display having 1920×1080 pixels resolution and will be powered by the newly launched Qualcomm chipset Snapdragon 835 that comes with Adreno 540 GPU and other specs like the above. The GFXBench listing for the Xiaomi Sagit comes with similar specifications to the above.

The device was also leaked in a few leaked images shared by a Weibo user, who confirms a fingerprint scanner on the front panel below the 5.2-inch full HD display. The leaked images also confirmed the Type-C reversible USB port at the bottom of the device along with the two speaker grills.
