After getting leaked on the official Oppo website, Oppo has launched the new selfie expert smartphone Oppo F3 Plus smartphone in India in an official event in New Delhi today.
OPPO F3 Plus Price
The Oppo F3 Plus is priced at Rs. 30,990 (around $473) and comes with Gold and Black colour options. The Oppo F3 Plus will be available in India starting April 1 via online retailers like Flipkart, Amazon, Snapdeal and other offline retailers as well. This new ‘F’ series phone focuses on selfies and comes with a dual front-facing camera with screen flash. There are no details available of its global debut as of now.
OPPO F3 Plus Specifications
The specifications of the device are the same as we saw in the leaked official listing. The Oppo F3 Plus features a 6-inch Full HD 2.5D curved glass display with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 653 processor (Quad 1.95GHz ARM Cortex A72 + Quad 1.44GHz A53 CPUs) with Adreno 510 GPU and comes with 4GB of RAM with 64GB internal storage capacity that is further expandable up to 256GB with microSD card slot. It runs on the Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) OS out of the box with ColorOS 3.0 on top and supports a Hybrid Dual SIM slot where you can use two SIMs or 1 SIM + MicroSD card.
The Oppo F3 Plus features a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/1.7 aperture, 1/2.8″ Sony IMX398 sensor, Dual Focus PDAF, 6P lens, dual-tone LED Flash, OIS, 4K video recording and comes with a dual selfie camera with a 16-megapixel lens having 76.4-degree wide-angle lens, 1/3.1-inch sensor, f/2.0 aperture and an 8-megapixel lens with 120-degree wide-angle lens. It is backed up by a 4000mAh battery with VOOC Flash Charge and supports 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac (dual-band), Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS connectivity options. It comes with a fingerprint sensor on the physical home button on the front panel. It measures 163.63×80.8×7.35mm and weighs 185 grams.
Recently, the company listed the Oppo F3 Plus smartphone on their website with all specifications and images and then removed the listing after getting caught by several online websites. The device listing can still be accessed via a cached view of the listing that shows all the images and specifications of the device.
The Oppo F3 Plus was listed at GFXBench with code name Oppo CPH1613 and features a 6-inch full-HD display that has a 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and other specs as we discussed above. The company posted a new teaser on their Indian Facebook page today that comes with the Oppo F3 Plus name with a big “F3” and the launch date. The company also confirmed that the Oppo F3 Plus will feature a dual front-facing camera with a 16-megapixel and an 8-megapixel lens.
The company also announced Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone as the brand ambassador for the new F3 series smartphones and she will be participating in the phone’s advertising campaigns and promotions. Commenting on the launch, OPPO Vice President and Managing Director of International Mobile Business, Sky Li said, “At OPPO, product innovation drives everything that we do, and it is our key brand value. The F3 Series will take selfie technology to another level as well as it sets new trends. We are confident it will be a great success and will set a standard that others will follow.”
The Oppo F3 Plus was also spotted showcased in local retail outlets in the Philippines but was not launched at that time. The company has started sending the invite that comes with two circles together hinting towards a dual camera setup for the new devices and with the tag “The New Era of Selfie Expert” along with the 23rd March 2017 launch event date.
