OnePlus 3 and 3T will get OnePlus 5T facial scanner
Yesterday, the OnePlus 3 was a participant in a controversy related to the supposed delivery of user data, and today, on the other hand, good news is coming for all those who still have one of the OnePlus flagships of 2016. And, as pointed out by the CEO of the com, Pete Lau, in an interview offered to CNET, the OnePlus 3 and 3T will receive the facial recognition system of the current 5Tthrough a software update, in the same way what happened with the OnePlus 5.
As we already know, the OnePlus 5T was the first phone of the firm to have an unlocking method based on facial recognition. Being a software-based system, it stood out for its extreme speed, although over time we realized that it was a method that was not too secure when compared with other biometric systems such as the fingerprint reader. Even so, OnePlus 5 users asked OnePlus to take this feature to the predecessor of the company’s first “frameless” smartphone, which happened only a few weeks after the presentation. And now, will be the owners of the OnePlus 3 and 3T who will benefit from this feature.
The CEO of the company of Chinese origin has not revealed a date for the arrival of this feature, although it has confirmed that the first to be able to enjoy facial unlocking in the OnePlus 3 and 3T will be those who are attached to the beta program of OxygenOS. Later, this tool will make its way into the stable branch of the ROM.
