At the MWC 2017 event, Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi Mi 5c and Xiaomi Redmi 4X and not only launched its new Surge S1 SoC but also launched these new devices in the Xiaomi Mi series and the Redmi series.
Xiaomi Mi 5c Price
The Xiaomi Mi 5c is priced at 1499 yuan (around $218) and will go on sale starting March 3rd in China. Colour options available will be Rose Gold, Gold and Black.
Xiaomi Redmi 4X Price
The Xiaomi Redmi 4X with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage is priced at 699 yuan (around $101) while the 3GB RAM + 32GB inbuilt storage variant is priced at 899 yuan (around $130). It will come with Cherry Pink, Champagne Gold and Mate Black colour options.
Xiaomi Mi 5c Specifications
The Xiaomi Mi 5c comes with a unibody metal design and features a 5.15-inch full-HD curved glass display with 1920×1080 pixels resolution, 94.4% of the NTSC colour gamut, 550 nits brightness and 1500: 1 contrast ratio. A 2.2GHz Xiaomi Surge S1 64-bit octa-core processor with quad-core Mali-T860 GPU powers it. It comes with 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 64GB (eMMC 5.0) of internal storage capacity. It runs on Android with MIUI 8, upgradable to Android 7.1 (Nougat) and supports Dual SIMs.
It features a 12-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 1.25 μm pixel size, f/2.2 aperture, 6P lens 27-mm wide angle lens and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera available with f/2.0 aperture and a 27 mm wide-angle lens. It is backed up by a 2860mAh built-in battery with fast charging and connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac dual-band, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack and USB Type-C along with FM radio support. A fingerprint scanner is available on the physical home button on the front and an infrared sensor is also available. It measures 144.38 x 69.68 x7.09 mm and weighs 135 grams.
Xiaomi Redmi 4X Specifications
The Xiaomi Redmi 4X comes with a 5-inch HD 2.5D curved glass display with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution, 450nit brightness, 1000: 1 contrast ratio and 72% NTSC colour gamut. it is powered by a 1.4GHz octa-core Snapdragon 435 processor with Adreno 505 GPU and has 2GB /3GB RAM with 16GB /32GB inbuilt storage and MicroSD card expandable storage up to 128GB. It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with MIUI 8 on top and comes with hybrid Dual SIM support.
It features a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, 5P lens, PDAF, LED Flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture. A 4100mAh battery powers the device and connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS. A fingerprint sensor is available on the rear side this time and an infrared sensor is also available. It measures 139.24 x 69.96 x8.65 mm and weighs 150 grams.
