Chinese manufacturer Gionee has launched a couple of new devices at the MWC 2017 event today including the Gionee A1 Plus which comes with dual-rear cameras and a premium metal body design and the Gionee A1. The Gionee A1 is priced at 349 Euros (around $369) and will be available from March 2017. The bigger Gionee A1 Plus is priced at 499 Euros (around $527) and will be available from April 2017.
The Gionee A1 comes in Gray, Black and Gold colours while the Gionee A1 Plus comes in Gray and Mocha Gold colours. “We have noticed that more and more people are regarding selfies as an expression of themselves and they tend to share their photos through various social channels whenever and wherever they are. As a consumer-oriented smartphone manufacturer, we hope to set up the evolution of the selfie experience and provide the best portfolio at the best price,” said William Lu, President of Gionee.
The Gionee A1 comes with a 5.5-inch full-HD IPS 2.5D curved glass display with 1920× 1080 pixels resolution and is powered by a 1.8 GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 processor with Mali T860 GPU and we have 4GB of RAM with 64GB internal storage capacity that is expandable up to 128GB with microSD card. It runs on Android 7.0 (Nougat) with Amigo OS and supports dual-SIM. It features a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, PDAF, f/2.0 aperture, 1/3.0+” sensor, 5P lens and a 16-megapixel front-facing camera is also available with f/2.0 aperture, 1/3.06″ sensor, 5P lens along with a selfie flash.
Gionee A1 specs
The Gionee A1 is backed up by a 4010mAh battery with fast charging and connectivity options available are 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac/a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack and Waves MaxxAudio audio enhancer. A fingerprint sensor is placed at the physical home button on the front. It measures 154.5 x 76.5 x 8.5mm and weighs 182 grams.
Gionee A1 Plus specs
The bigger Gionee A1 Plus comes with a 6-inch full-HD IPS 2.5D curved glass display with 1920× 1080 pixels resolution and is powered by a 2.5GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P25 processor with Mali-T880 GPU. It has 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage with MicroSD card expandable storage up to 256 GB. It runs on the Android 7.0 (Nougat) with Amigo OS and supports Dual-SIMs. It features a dual camera with a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, PDAF, f/2.0 aperture, 1/3.06″ sensor, 5P lens and a secondary 5-megapixel camera.
A 20-megapixel front-facing camera is available with f/2.0 aperture, 1/2.8″ sensor, 5P lens and a selfie flash. It is backed up by a 4550mAh battery with fast charging and connectivity options available are 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac/a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS. It measures 166.4 x 83.3 x 9.1mm and weighs 226 grams. A fingerprint sensor is available on the physical home button on the front.
